We are excited for Spring, and what better way than with BUTTERFLIES! These fascinating creatures are delicate, beautiful, graceful, necessary, and just plain fun!
Today we have a fun craft that teaches about butterfly symmetry. Butterflies are symmetrical, so Marta came up with the incredibly fun way for children to learn about and understand what symmetry means and looks like using craft items and a mirror. You can make this a craft activity, or you can use the printables below to make it a magnetic activity.
You honestly can use whatever you have on hand, whether it’s pom poms, stickers, or even just by coloring it.
Here is the final result before you hold it up to the mirror:
We have included the butterfly template for you, and there are also shapes that you can cut out on magnetic photo paper to do this activity with a cookie sheet.
Here’s the template: Butterfly Symmetry – magnet board
Thank you Marta for making such great educational resources for our awesome Preschool Inspirations readers!
