Get the best potty training songs and potty training videos to help get your child excited about using the potty!
Want to hear some potty training advice that works for ALL children? Children love songs, and using music to help with potty training will make the experience much more enjoyable! Potty training is not always sunshine and rainbows, but potty training songs can help make it more enjoyable.
I am in the throes of potty training our third child, and I’ve helped potty train hundreds of children, and they all have something in common: they can’t resist a good potty song! I am going to share the best songs we’ve found that truly do help! Or at least we all have fun with them, so it feels like it helps a ton even if it’s just a little bit.
Potty Training Age
Potty training starts at different ages, and it’s a milestone that happens in a different way for each child. Children can begin this in early toddlerhood or even as a preschooler.
Children who potty train early tend not to like to be wet or soiled and are bothered by the way it feels until they are dry again. Early potty trainers are also aware of their bodies and have good gross motor control such as being able to get on a toilet and pull down their pants. In general, girls potty train earlier than boys. But there are always exceptions to this.
Sometimes children toilet train later if they have fears about the bathroom. This could be fears of how it sounds to flush, fears of falling into the toilet, and even fears of being alone in the bathroom. These children will need some extra support and patience. If you know of a child who is having trouble potty training, here are five things to consider.
Potty Training Chart
Visuals are a great way to help children understand more about the toilet training process. The potty training visual schedule pictured below helps children understand when their bodies naturally need to go use the bathroom and reinforce that there are certain times of day that they need to use the toilet to make sure that their bodies stay healthy and happy.
This takes more pressure off the adults and cuts back on nagging and constant reminders to go to the bathroom as the child places the appropriate boxes on the potty training visual schedule!
It even works for children who are already potty trained and try to avoid going until the last second.

Potty Training Songs and Videos
Daniel Tiger with Stop and Go Right Away
Daniel Tiger is the best, and I love his advice for going potty! Children don’t want to be interrupted to go potty, but this song is perfect for that. This potty training video is too sweet, and kids love to watch it over and over again.
Potty Time by Two Little Hands
We have this entire Potty Time DVD, and it was a lifesaver! Plus, it is my favorite because it helps children recognize those necessary potty training cues!
Sesame Street with Potty Time
Hands down, this was my own children’s favorite potty training song! We also had this Sesame Street DVD, and sometimes I swear it’s what helped get my son over the hump to finally get trained! Plus, it helps with potty hygiene such as washing hands after using the bathroom.
I Gotta Go by The Learning Station
The Learning Station is one of my all-time favorite spots for awesome children’s music, and I am so thrilled they came out with a potty training song that even includes manners! You can grab the entire CD if you are old school like me and still use those.
Potty Song by The Kiboomers
The Kiboomers have made this catchy song that children will want to watch over and over again.
The Poop Song by Growing Sound
Sometimes going #2 is not so easy! Try this one!
It’s Potty Time
Patty Shukla is one of our favorite children’s musicians, and I am pretty sure she has made a song for everything, even this fun potty training song!
The Poo in You
In case you have a child who is constipated or holding their bowels, this educational video is so informative and really does help children see what is going on inside their bodies. For more tips on potty training accident, bed wetting, and constipation, I highly recommend the book, It’s No Accident, written by a pediatric urologist! Constipation while potty training is no joke and oftentimes a huge reason why potty training is hindered in children who are almost there.
I hope these songs help you and work a little potty training success magic!
