“If you want your children to turn out well, spend twice as much time with them, and half as much money.” Abigail Van Buren
As I live in the midst of a society that wants to provide children will all the right tools, toys, and gadgets to succeed, I have to constantly remind myself that all the items in a store are just things. These all will break, get lost, and lose their worth. Nothing is as valuable as the quality time I get to spend with my children. They hardly remember what they got for their birthdays and Christmas, but they can’t wait until the next camping trip, the next visit to our favorite lake, the next time we will make cookies together, and the next time we can snuggle in bed together.
If you are fretting over finding the “perfect” gift for your child, then you are making this too hard. Children are simple. Toys and items only bring temporary happiness, but meaningful relationships bring true joy. What children want and what they need is YOU. Everything else pales in comparison.
